Christian Education classes
Christian education classes gather on Sunday mornings from 9-10 a.m. Greeters are available to assist you in finding a class and directing you to the classroom. These classes provide a place for study and interpretation of the biblical story, for discerning the relevance of Christian faith to daily living, and for encouraging and supporting each other.
Children and Youth
Children and junior youth, age 3 through grade 8, use Shine: Living in God’s Light. This curriculum nurtures children and youth in becoming followers of Jesus, provides a vocabulary to give voice to their understanding of God and faith, and helps them move towards an owned and accountable faith. Lessons are age appropriate and offer singing and prayer, Bible story, wonder and reflection, spiritual practice, and activities that help to connect the lesson to the life of the student.
High school youth study topics that encourage them to explore the Scripture and seek a faith response to the world’s tough questions.
In addition, several supplemental lessons a year emphasize God’s love for each person and help children and youth maintain appropriate physical, emotional, spiritual and sexual boundaries. These lessons, along with a child protection policy, help to form a safe and transparent environment enabling children and youth to thrive and grow into all that God intended.
Adults
There are various adult classes that gather on Sunday morning. Studies and discussions range from books on relevant topics to biblical studies. Commonly used are lessons prepared by the International Bible Lessons for Christian Teaching by the Committee on the Uniform Series and written from an Anabaptist/Christian perspective.
Occasionally adult classes will join and meet together as one class during the education hour for a presentation or discussion.
